New York and New Jersey Drivers Hit with Highest Gas Prices on Record

Drivers in New York and New Jersey who fill up their tanks today will be shocked to see the highest average gas prices on record.
While some report gas prices in New York City in the $5 to $6 range, New Yorkers out of the city are seeing prices of $4.51 per gallon, which have increased by 17-cents from just last week.
Nationally, gas prices, on average, are a bit lower at $4.31 a gallon, abc7ny.com reported.
Drivers in the United States are paying an average of approximately $23 more to fill up their tanks, than just one year ago, said Tracy Noble, a spokesperson for AAA Mid-Atlantic.
As long as crude oil supplies remain low, as a result of the invasion of Ukraine by Russia, which was previously the world’s top oil exporter, analysts say gas prices are unlikely to fall anytime soon.
