New York City Hit with Second Heat Wave: Could Feel Like 100 Degrees

The National Weather Service has issued a heat advisory that will go into effect tomorrow, when from noon to 8pm, temperatures in Boro Park feel like 100 degrees.

New York City’s heatwave is starting to gather momentum today, when temperatures may reach 90 degrees, with humidity that might reach 78%.

“It is going to feel very hot and humid,” said weather enthusiast Yaker Biegeleisen, who adds that some scattered thunderstorms may fall this afternoon.

On Monday and Tuesday, temperatures will continue to climb to the mid-90s, especially in the afternoons, when, with the heat index, the air could feel as high as 100 degrees, warns the National Weather Service.

As temperatures in cars with closed doors can spike to 150 to 180 degrees very quickly, drivers must remember never to leave their children alone: even for a minute, reminded Mr. Biegeleisen.

Brooklynites will be able to breathe a sigh of relief on Thursday, when temperatures cool down and fall, along with probable rain showers.
