NY Attorney General Responds to Reports of Price Gouging for Childrens Pain Relief

by Mindy Cohen

New York Attorney General Letitia James requested New Yorkers report to her office if they note attempts at price gouging by retailers due to shortages of childrens painkillers and fever reducers, as reported last week in BoroPark24 here.

"The last thing any family needs when a child spikes a fever or is in pain," says James, "is to be price gouged on the medication they need."

James issued the price gouging announcement today after the attorney generals office received reports of childrens medication being at prices two or three times their retail value in stores and online.

James said her office is ready to investigate any incidence of dramatic price increases reported.
