NYC Emergency Management Monitoring Cellphone Network Outages

If your cellphone service was disrupted recently, you were not alone. Widespread wireless outages were reported, affecting customers across multiple networks.

NYC Emergency Management says it is aware of the situation and is working closely with the city’s Office of Technology and Innovation and various utility providers to assess any potential impact on city agencies and essential services. Officials are also gathering information directly from the affected carriers as the cause and scope of the outage continue to be investigated.

At this time, the city says there is no confirmed impact on critical services. Residents are advised to check their cellphone provider’s website or social media channels for updates.
