By: Boropark24 staff.

Joseph Flood of Port Jervis is behind bars this evening following a police chase that culminated with his capture. He had evaded police capture on numerous occasions, all the while committing more thefts.

Flood is accused of stealing expensive gardening equipment, and unhooking trailers and driving off with them, in Orange and Sullivan Counties, as well as Pennsylvania.

One Orthodox man from Sullivan county lost thousands of dollars in cash, in addition to his expensive trailer, when Flood made off with it.

Police had been pursuing Flood for a long time. He was finally spotted in Monticello on Thursday afternoon. Following a chase, the police placed a spike on the road where the suspect was speeding. With his tires blown out, Flood fled on foot, but was soon caught and remanded in police custody.
