By Y.M. Lowy

The NYPD is asking for help identifying a man wanted in connection with a violent assault that happened in the 66th Precinct.

On June 21, around 1:00 a.m., a woman walking home near Coney Island Avenue and Cortelyou Road noticed a man following her. Concerned for her safety, she approached two men nearby and asked them to walk her home.

After they made sure she got home safely, the two men received a phone alert about another woman nearby who may have also been followed by the same man. They found the second woman in front of 465 Ocean Parkway, and the suspect showed up again. He then stabbed the 26-year-old in the chest and shoulder, and slashed the 29-year-old above the eye with a knife.

Both men were taken to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital and are in stable condition.

The suspect is described as approximately 5 feet 8 inches tall, 165 pounds, with a dark complexion. He was last seen wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt and gray sweatpants.

Anyone with information is asked to call the NYPD Crime Stoppers Hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS (8477).
