Public Workshop on Interborough Express Set Today in Boro Park
By Y.M. Lowy
Locals will have a chance to take part in a public workshop this evening focused on the proposed Interborough Express (IBX), a major transit project that would create a new light rail connection between Brooklyn and Queens.
The in-person session is scheduled for today, May 13, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Maimonides Medical Center.
The workshop is part of a wider series of meetings being held across the city as planners continue to develop the project.
Those who attend will be able to speak with project representatives, review updated plans, ask questions, and share input on what they would like to see included in the new line. The event is open to the public and anyone interested in the future of transit in the area can attend.
The proposed IBX line would run through several neighborhoods in Brooklyn and Queens, aiming to improve east-west travel connections that currently often require transfers through Manhattan
