Rite Aid at 65th Street and Fort Hamilton to Close Pharmacy and Store in Coming Weeks
By BoroPark24 Staff
The Rite Aid store located at 6423 Fort Hamilton Parkway, on the corner of 65th Street, is set to permanently shut down its operations in the coming weeks, as part of the company's broader restructuring effort amid bankruptcy proceedings.
According to official notices posted at the store, the pharmacy department will close on Monday, July 22, after which customers will no longer be able to fill prescriptions or receive pharmacy services at this location.
The front-end retail portion of the store, which includes household goods, personal care items, snacks, and general merchandise, will remain open for another month before shutting its doors on Saturday, August 24.
The closure marks the end of a long-standing neighborhood fixture, which has served the Boro Park and Kensington communities for many years.
Rite Aid has been gradually closing locations nationwide following its Chapter 11 bankruptcy filing, with multiple Brooklyn stores already shuttered or scheduled for closure in the coming months.
