Rumors Swirl About Target Self-Checkout

Over the weekend, several newspapers reported that Target is removing self-checkout from all of their locations around the country. Several shoppers reported on online forums that their local Targets suddenly didn’t have self-checkout anymore, much to their shock and disappointment. 

Retail experts weighed in and said that the decision is probably due to high levels of theft and shoplifting that have been crushing retail stores throughout the country. Removing self-checkout, which provides an easy way to sneak items out, is thought to be an attempt at somewhat controlling the chaos. 

However, Target quickly put the rumors to rest. In a statement to The US Sun, Target confirmed that they have no plans to remove self-checkout from all their stores, and that any possible changes would happen only on a store-by-store basis.
