Satmar Releases Letter Urging Community to be Cautious of Rising Covid-19 Cases

The Satmar Kehila is now the second Kehila to come out with a warning about new COVID-19 cases detected in the community.

“In light of the recent stories about new Coronavirus patients, we are asking all people over 60 and those with pre-existing conditions to please keep a safe distance from others, and specially if they aren’t wearing a mask,” a poster released by the Kehila reads.

“We specifically ask those that arrived to the United States from any other country, to please protect himself and others by wearing a mask whenever he is inside the Bhm”d,” the letter continued.

Boro Park was hit heavily by the virus in March and April, with an estimated 380 people passing away. There have been few cases since then, and none that required hospitalization, but a recent uptick in new cases in the neighborhood is causing concerns amongst many Kehilas.
