Storm Approaches from North, Bringing Snow in Early Morning Hours
BY: Yaker Biegeleisen
After a reprieve today with some mild weather in the upper 40’s, the cold weather returns in force in the overnight hours.
A cold front from the north blows in overnight. Rain will begin about 3:00 a.m., before switching over to sleet and heavy snow in the early morning hours, from around 6:00. Rush hour will likely be extremely messy, with low visibility, and difficult driving conditions, in and around Boro Park.
The snow will continue until about midday, with total accumulation on cold surfaces about 1-3 inches. The roads are not expected to get much accumulation due to the moisture and the timing, but they will be quite messy.
The storm will be gone by midday—but as the day progresses, we get windy and cold, with temps dropping sharply. Thursday night could see temperatures with a wind chill below zero—hovering around that for the rest of the weekend, as we make our way through the bottom half of January.
