By Idy Perl
A large structure fire broke out on 13th Avenue and 39th Street last night, causing extensive damage to a store and a residential apartment.
At 2:00am last night, firefighters responded to the massive fire and battled the flames to get it under control. The fire caused heavy smoke that blanketed the entire Boro Park area.
A shoe store and a residential apartment above it, both located at the end of the street, were completely destroyed, and the residents of the apartment were evacuated during the blaze. Thankfully, everyone got out in time and no injuries were reported.
