The NYPD Interrupts Robbery in Progress, Take Possession of Many Valuables

At about 3:00 a.m. on Motzei Shabbos, the NYPD received a call of a larceny in progress at 21st Avenue and 57th Street. A witness who was on the scene before the police arrived spoke with BoroPark24, and described the events. 

“I witnessed the perpetrators, three men in total, throwing items off of a U-haul truck, it looked suspicious so we called the police. The police soon arrived and began examining the contents of the truck. They were filled with valuables, including a safe that had many phones, and titles of vehicles,” he said.

“Turns out, that the truck was stolen from the NYPD’s 94th precinct where it was being held, and they brought it here to throw off the garbage items and leave just the valuables” 

A cruiser remained on the scene until the morning when crime scene investigators came to retrieve fingerprints from the scene, and took the truck for further investigation.
