Thousands Affected by Electrical Problems This Morning; Hundreds in Boro Park
By Y.M. Lowy
If your lights are flickering or your air conditioner isn’t cooling properly this morning, you’re not alone. Con Edison reports that about 2,200 customers across Brooklyn are experiencing power problems.
The affected neighborhoods include Boro Park, Bay Ridge, Dyker Heights, Sunset Park, and Williamsburg. In many cases, the power hasn’t gone out completely, but it’s running lower than normal. Con Edison says this is being done to reduce voltage in specific areas to protect equipment and allow for emergency repairs.
Crews have been working around the clock. Some areas may see power return to normal later today, while others is still to be determined.
