Trump Declares Masks to be Effective

Declaring masks to be effective, United States President Donald Trump encouraged all Americans to wear masks as they provide significant protective benefits against COVID-19 saying that, “When you are not able to socially distance, wear a mask, get a mask. Whether you like the mask or not, they have an impact, they'll have an effect—and we need everything we can get."

This announcement came as President Trump held his first press conference in the James Brady press briefing room since April.

President Trump is slowly adjusting to the CDC recommendation that masks are necessary after vigorously denouncing their usefulness for months. President Trump was first spotted in public with a mask on July 11 when visiting Walter Reed Medical Center.
