Weekend Weather: Likely Snow on Shabbos

By: Yaker Biegeleisen
On the heels of a mild week, we are settling in for some
cold, rainy, sleety weather over this weekend.
We will remain in the 40’s overnight on Friday—and we begin
with temperatures in the 40’s.
But in the early morning hours, a rain system from the south
comes up the coast... and will bring rain over our area.
However, it will collide with a system of cold air with the
north, over the ocean near us. This will cause a drastic drop in temperatures,
turning the rain to sleet, and later to snow.
As the day wears on, we will drop into the low 30’s, with
the wind-chill making it feel like the 20’s.
This will make it possible for some accumulation to
occur—but we do not expect anything significant for this Shabbos Zochor.
