A massive fire erupted at 6:40am at 265 Penn St. in Williamsburg, at which 17 Yiden were injured, and one woman, Rechil Breindel bas Hinda, remains in critical condition.

More than 100 firefighters, who heroically removed 17 residents from the burning apartment complex, were able to get the two-alarm blaze control by 7:45am.

While 13 Yidden were treated at the scene for minor injuries, three more of the building’s residents with minor injuries were taken to NYU Medical Center.

Hatzolah members from Williamsburg, as well as from Boro Park, Flatbush, and Crown Heights, rushed to the scene to assist the more than 100 firefighters who were fighting the two-alarm blaze that tore through the apartment complex.

FDNY officials continue to investigate the cause of the fire, they said at a press conference near the scene of the blaze.
