Worker Dressed as Verizon Employee Arrested for Assaulting Homeowner

A homeowner on 15th Avenue and 54th Street was assaulted on Friday after a worker showed up at his door claiming to be a Verizon employee that needed to fix something, but appeared to be suspicious.

The homeowner, finding the ‘Verizon employee’ to be suspicious, called  Shomrim, who in turn asked the worker for an ID, which he refused to give to the homeowner.

In response for being questioned for his ID, the worker assaulted the homeowner. The NYPD was summoned and immediately arrested him for assault.

We have reached out to Verizon for comment on if the employee was indeed working for the company, and will update this post accordingly.
