Worldwide Facebook Coronavirus Outage?

Social media users around the world have been experiencing an outage on Wednesday afternoon. 

The outage is reported to affect primarily users of social media tools associated with the Facebook company. 

it affected the ability to download photos and voice notes on WhatsApp (a Facebook company), and ten popular photo sharing site Instagram was also down.  

This is as so much of the globe—including so much of the United States is secluded indoors due to the Coronavirus outbreak, and social media is being used to communicate with the outside world, with loved ones... and to pass the time. 

It is unclear whether an overload is responsible for the outage, or other technical reasons.
