Yahadus America Preparing a Momentous Welcome for Maran Harav Moshe Hillel Hirsch shlit”a

With growing excitement and anticipation, Yahadus America from across the spectrum eagerly looks forward to forthcoming visit of the venerated Slabodka Rosh HaYeshiva, Hagaon Harav Moshe Hillel Hirsch shlit”a.

This visit is the commencement of a historic milestone celebration – the Yovel Hashmonim marking 80 years since the reestablishment of the Slabodka Yeshiva in the Torah citadel of Eretz Yisroel – Bnei Brak.

In 1947, shortly after the great metropolis of Torah, the town of Slabodka, was consumed by the flames of the holocaust, HaravEizik Sher zt”l,  with the encouragement of the holy Chazon Ish and other gedolei olam, painstakingly replanted the illustrious mivtzarhaTorah founded by the Alter of Slabodka, whose 100th yahrtzeit is also marked this year.

Over the past eighty years, the Slabodka Yeshiva has nurtured generations of lomdei Torah, Marbitzei Torah and preeminent Talmidei Chachamim, and has been a dynamic force in the building the Olam Hatorah in Ertz Yisroel and around the world.

As one of the foremost Ziknei Manhigei Hador, the Rosh Hayeshiva carries so many of the burdens of the Olam Hatorah on his shoulders. Yet his primary mission remains the sustenance and growth of his own Yeshiva – the legendary empire of Slabodka with its hundreds of talmidim.

In addition to leading the Yeshiva, giving shiurim and personally nurturing the talmidim, the Rosh HaYeshiva is charged with the mission of sustaining the enormous financial budget, which entails considerable solicitation from generous machzikei haTorah.

Yet, when the Israeli government’s notorious budget cuts hit the Olam Hatorah in Eretz Yisroel, Rav Moshe Hillel immediately spearheaded a worldwide mission of massive global fundraising for this critical need, putting aside the crushing burden of his own obligation to Slabodka.

The Rosh Hayeshiva is scheduled to arrive in the US on Wednesday, November 11, coinciding with the yahrtzeit of his revered Rebbe, Maran Harav Aharon Kotler zt”l.

Rav Moshe Hillel  will visit many communities over the course of his 12-day visit. The multifaceted throngs of yidden who connect with the Rosh Hayeshiva over the course of his stay are blessed by his uplifting presence. The Rosh Hayeshiva serves as a dynamic wellspring of Da’as Torah, along with illuminating practicalhadracha in all areas of life.

A highlight  of the Rosh Hayeshiva’s itinerary will be a beautifully planned Shabbos Malkesa weekend, where Slabodka talmidim and the families will be able to bask in the Rosh Hayeshiva’s presence and personally interact with Harav Moshe Hillel shlit”a and other Ramim of the Yeshiva.

The Shabbos will be followed by a gala fundraiser, allowing donors to partner with the Rosh Hayeshiva in sustaining the legendary mivtzar haTorah of Slabodka.

Yehi boyoh liveracha – may the Rosh Hayeshiva’s presence in our midst serve as a bracha for the entire Yahadus America.
