Yarmulka Knocked-Off Pedestrian's Head in Antisemitic Incident by Hecklers on Passing Scooter

A Boro Park pedestrian was passing 18th Avenue when two men on a scooter pulled to a stop near him. 

One of the riders dismounted, approached the 49-year-old, made an undocumented statement, and then knocked off the victim's yarmulka before the pair took off west toward 46th Street.

The incident occurred around 7:20 on Wednesday while the victim was talking on his cell phone. Shomirim of Boro Park was at the scene shortly thereafter to assist the victim and in the search for locating the attackers.

The NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force is investigating. No arrested have been made as the NYPD Hate Crimes Task Force continues its investigation. The attacker and his partner are described as youths in their late teens to early 20s, with medium complexions and thin builds.
