Yeshivas Novominsk Urges Talmidim to Vaccinate Ahead of New Zeman
Citing a sharp uptick in Covid cases, around
the world, in the New York City area, and within the yeshiva population itself,
Yeshivas Novominsk has sent a letter to parents this evening, asking that
talmidim take the Covid-19 vaccine before returning to yeshiva following bein
hazmanim.
“...at the moment, Talmidim have tested positive and are currently at home,” the letter stated.
It went on to cite increasing regulations, including mandatory masking in K-12 classes in schools all over New York.
While this move is meant to curb the transmission rate among talmidim, having vaccination records of the entire student body on file is likely in anticipation of the unknown territory that we are heading into—with authorities sure to come down with increased regulations in the weeks to come.
It should be noted that the mayor has already taken the step of mandating vaccines for all city teachers.
As we head toward winter, and infection rates from the delta variant on the rise, Klaf Yisroel’s tefillos these Yomim Nora’im are sure to be all the more fervent that we be delivered from this difficult era.
