By Y.M. Lowy
Good news for the Catskills region. Governor Kathy Hochul announced that the renovation of Sullivan County International Airport has been completed.
The $18.5 million project began in May 2023 and was funded through the state’s Upstate Airport Economic Development and Revitalization program. The new 15,000-square-foot terminal includes updated facilities designed to improve comfort for travelers, local businesses, and community members.
Governor Hochul said the project will support continued economic growth in Sullivan County and the wider Catskill region.
Sullivan County International was one of nine upstate airports that received funding as part of the $230 million statewide effort to modernize regional airports and strengthen local economies.
The new terminal is expected to help the area handle more visitors and business travel, adding to the ongoing development across the Catskills.
