A Construction worker falls to his death while painting on the Manhattan Bridge

A construction worker fell to his death while painting on the Manhattan Bridge this afternoon. It was around 1:50 p.m. when he plummeted to the ground at South Street and Pike Slip near the FDR Drive, according to the police. It wasn’t clear to the police whether he was using a safety harness.

The bridge’s lower level is closed due to the incident resulting in heavy traffic.
