Andrew Yang Leads in NYC Mayoral Race, New Poll Shows
Andrew Yang holds a double-digit lead over his closest rival in the race to be the next mayor of New York City, a new poll shows.
The poll, released Wednesday early morning by Core Decision Analytics shows former Democratic presidential candidate Yang receiving 28% of support to be the next Democratic nominee for Mayor of NYC, the Daily News reported.
His closest rival, Brooklyn Boro President Eric Adams received 17%, followed closely by NYC Comptroller Scott Stringer with 13% of support.
No one else received double-digit support in the race, which will be the first mayoral election with ranked-choice voting. The primary election will take place on June 22, 2021, followed by the general election on November 2, 2021.
