Another Speed Camera Installed in Boro Park

This morning, crews were observed erecting a new speed camera at 12th Avenue and 56th Street.

This addition follows the recent installment of several other speed cameras in the neighborhood, as reported here, purportedly for safety reasons, although many residents speculate they serve as an easy revenue source for the city.

According to a recent poll conducted by BoroPark24, 82.25% of respondents believe that the new cameras are solely a revenue source for the city, while only 17.75% voted that they are intended for safety purposes.

Alongside the speed camera installation, the Department of Transportation (DOT) also installed a new street light at the same location, aiming to enhance road visibility during nighttime hours.
