Anyone Wanna Catch Rats?
By Idy Perl
The city is turning to residents to help out with rat infestation issues.
This Sunday Mayor Adams was in Sunset Park, right near Boro Park, and spoke with residents about forming a “Rat Pack”. The Rat Pack will be a group of volunteers who complete a 2-hour training from the Department of Health on how to catch rats and make the city rat free. The volunteers will also join Katherine Corradi, the “Rat Czar,” on a tour to learn about the rat habits, where they tend to go and how to keep them away.
“Rat Pack members will be able to defend their community from rodents and achieve our goal of making the city the least rat-friendly city in America,” Mayor Adams said. He also mentioned that the new trash can initiative, which is set to be almost completely rolled out by November, will help mitigate the issue as well.
If you ever had dreams of being a rat catcher, now is your chance…
