ARRESTED: Unlicensed Hit-and-Run Driver who Killed Woman on Dahill Road

By Yehudit Garmaise

NYPD arrested an unlicensed driver who veered across double yellow lines to fatally hit Elizabeth Perez, who was walking across the street on Dahill Road, near 63rd Street: before speeding off 11:50pm last night.

The hit-and-run suspect, 24-year-old Yerlin Garcia, faces multiple charges, including: driving without a license, operating a car without insurance, aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle, and leaving the scene of a deadly accident, Newsbreak reported.

Garcia, who lives in Flatlands, was speeding in an Acura TSX zipped over the double yellow line to cross into the southbound lane of Dahill Road, where the passenger side of Garcia’s car slammed into Perez, who was 60-years-old and a resident of Sunset Park.

The suspect never stopped, said cops, who found Garcia’s Acura nearby, before taking the reckless driver into custody.

Medics rushed Perez to Maimonides Medical Center, where she could not be revived. Misaskim was not needed.
