Thousands around the world received the terrible news of the passing of HaGaon Rav Avraham Shlomo Yavo, a maggid shiur who was known for his crystal clear delivery of shiurim over decades. He was sadly only 55 years of age. 

The niftar was born in Williamsburg to parents who hailed from Argentina, and came to the United States to be close to the Satmar Rebbe, zt”l. 

Rav Avraham Shlomo learned in Satmar, and was an ardent chassid of the Admorim of Satmar. 

His talent and brilliance were soon recognized, and he became a Maggid shiur in numerous yeshivos in Brooklyn. 

He soon began delivering a daf Yomi shiur which was listened to by thousands around the world. 

The Lemberger Shul which he led was also a bastion of the Torah of Rav Avigdor Miller, zt”l, of whom he was an ardent Talmid. 

He was known to have mastered the entire Shas, backwards and forward, and anyone who had difficulty understanding a passage in Gemara would tune into the shiur to have all his difficulties melt away with the sweetness of his delivery. 

Rav Avraham Shlomo sadly contracted a dreaded disease, and was niftar on Shabbos—plunging thousands of his family and admirers into sadness. 

The levaya will take place at 5:00 Sunday afternoon in front of thr Ungvar shul on 53rd street.
