BDE: Haguon Hagudol Harav Dovid Olewski Z”l, Rosh Yeshiva of Ger.

We are saddened to inform of the passing of Haguon Hagudol Harav Dovid Olewski Z”l, Rosh Yeshiva of Ger. He passed on Motzei Shabbos in his 70’s after contracting the Coronavirus.

Harav Alevsky was the beloved Rosh Yeshiva for many years of the Gerrer Yeshiva Gedola in Boro Park, and was one of the most respectable men in the Kehila.

He was known to be a special person and always had a nice Dvar Torah to share with those around him. Harav Olewski Z”l was also a world renowned speaker, and was the keynote at many Gerrer events in Israel and New York, as well as other worldwide events.

He will be remembered by the countless Talmidim who’ve studied Torah together with him in Yeshiva.
