BDE: Mrs. Miriam Leah Wachsler, a”h

We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Miriam Leah Wachsler, a”h, a Holocaust survivor, and a pillar of the Viener Kehillah in Boro Park. She was 96 years of age.

She was born in Czekeslovakia, to Reb Shmiel and Malka Grunhut.

Her entire family—father and mother, brothers and sisters, and grandparents (save for one sister)—were all wiped out Al kiddush Hashem, Hy”d.

She married her husband, R’ Shloime Wachsler in the DP camps, where their eldest son was born to them. They would go on to have more children in America, and build a beautiful family within the Viener Kehillah, where they were prominent members.

The Wachslers opened a frozen puff pastry company, one of the earliest such products to be offered to kosher consumers in America. They operated this business together for many years.

Mrs. Wachsler was famed for her soft and smiling disposition and her refined middos and personality.

She leaves behind beautiful generations.

The Levaya will take place at Shomrei Hadas at 11:00.
