We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Puah Greene, a longtime resident of Boro Park. She was eighty-three years old.

Mrs. Greene was born in Eretz Yisroel to Reb Shimon Dov Meisel, the son of Reb Zalman Yaakov Ephraim Meisel, who was himself born in the holy land. Her mother was the former Ruth Reichenbach of Berlin, who was fortunate to get out of Germany to Eretz Yisroel, where she married.

She married ybl”ch, R’ Chaim Greene, and together they settled in Petach Tikvah. She was know for all of her life as a phenomenal cook, and would use this medium to bring joy and satisfaction to others. In the early days, during the 1960’s, she would feed hungry souldiers who would make their way to her home.

Around 1970, the Greene’s came to America, settling in Boro Park.

For years, she worked in various establishments, preparing delectable meals which were famous in the neighborhood.

The most important thing to her was seeing her family seated around her table. She was also known to be extremely meticulous when it came to standards in Torah and mitzvos.

She is survived by a beautiful Torah family, as well as her husband.

The levaya taking place in Shomrei Hadas now.
