BDE: Mrs. Rochel Berger, a”h
We regret to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Rochel Berger, a longtime Boro Park resident, and a matriarch of a prominent Torah’dige family. She was 76 years of age.
The nifteres was born right after the war, the first generation of the postwar era which represented rebirth from the churban. Her father was R’ Yitzchok Baruch Schechter, a Holocaust survivor who established a truly Torah’dige and Chassidishe home, and Rochel grew up steeped in these values.
She translated these values into action as she grew older, dedicating her life to Chessed and mitzvos. She was active in Satmar Bikur cholim for decades, as well as other Chessed organizations.
She was an exceptionally loving mother and grandmother who always had time to listen and pay attention to each and every one of her children and grandchildren.
At the same time, she invested inordinate emotion and effort in davening for her family and for Klal Yisroel. She was always seen with her siddur and tehillim, davening and pleading—something she will surely continue to do by the kisei hakovod.
The levaya will take place 10:30 this morning at Shomrei Hadas. To watch it live click here.
Yehi zichra Baruch.
