BDE: Mrs. Toby Fink, A"H
We are saddened to inform you of the passing of Mrs. Fink, a
precious member of the she’eiris hapleitah who rebuilt from the
ashes in the Boro Park community where she made her home for decades. She was
93 years of age.
Mrs. Fink was born in Poland to her parents, Reb Shloime and
Machla Klapper. Reb Shloime was a distinguished talmid of Yeshiva
Chachmei Lublin, and a great talmid chochom hailing from a distinguished
family of Torah and chassidus. He knew the entire Yebamos by heart.
She survived the war by escaping to Siberia, along with her
three brothers, who miraculously survived.
She married, ybl”ch, Reb Itche Fink, sheyichye,
with whom she built a beautiful Torah family. The family davened for many
decades at the Agudah of Fourteenth Avenue, a legendary outpost in Boro Park in
the aftermath of the war.
For her entire life Mrs. Fink was involved in chessed,
playing a role in many chessed organizations and events, and her home was
always open to her many friends, and anyone in need.
She was an adoring grandmother to her grandchildren and
great grandchildren.
The Finks sadly lost their sons Eli and Leibel during their
lifetime, and Mrs. Fink is survived by her daughter, Mrs. Hindy Lubinsky, the
wife of Menachem Lubinsky of Lubicom.
She leaves behind generations of upstanding Torah families
who are a proud legacy to the yichus that she came from, and which she
dedicated her life to perpetuate.
The levaya will take place in Shomrei Hadas at 1:30 this
afternoon.
