BDE: R’ Mottel Brunner, z”l

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Yitzchok Mordechai Brunner, z”l. He was 77 years of age. 

The niftar was the son of the legendary Bobover Chossid Reb Moishe’l Brunner, and he was raised steeped in the Bobover chassidus. 

While he worked as an accountant, he devoted himself to helping others. 

One of his projects was making the rounds at Maimonides Hospital to blow shofar for the patients on both days of Rosh Hashanah, a tradition that is continued by his children. 

R’ Mottel was also a longtime, active member in the Bobover Chevra Kaddisha, a calling that he carried out with great devotion. 

He was sadly stricken with an illness in recent years, but nevertheless continued his avodas hakodesh with mesirus nefesh, making his way to shul to daven with great devotion.  

He was niftar on Sunday afternoon, and the levaya will take place at the Bobover Shul at 6:30 this evening.
