BDE: R’ Yehuda Hersh Igel, z”l, New York-Yerushalayim, Levaya in Boro Park

We are deeply saddened to inform you of the untimely petirah of R’ Yehuda Tzvi (Hersh) Igel, z”l, following a devastating illness. He was forty-nine years of age.
The niftar was born in New Square to his father, R’ Nachman Igel, z”l. He hailed from generations of distinguished Belzer chassidim. His grandfather was the legendary Reb Mendel Igel of Crown Heights, a distinguished talmid chochom and chassidishe Yid.
R’ Hersh moved to Eretz Yisroel, where he opened the chain of Moishe’s Bakery, well-known for their heimishe baked goods. For years, he had the zechus of baking the large challos for the tish of the Belzer Rebbe shlit”a to whom he was mekushar with heart and soul.
He was the brother of, ybl”ch, R’ Yossi Igel of Yossi’s Bakeries in Boro Park.
He was in America for treatment. Sadly, he succumbed to his illness late Monday night.
The levaya will take place in Shomrei Hadas this morning at 10:00, and kevurah will be in Yerushalayim.
