BDE: Rav Shloime Elimelich Goldstein, z”l

  We are saddened to inform the petira of Rav Shloime Elimelich Goldstein, z”l, who was 76 years old.

  Rav Goldstein, a 6th grade rebbe who taught at Yeshiva Yagdil Torah for 50 years, was born in 1945 in Poland, and lived in Eretz Yisroel with his parents Reb and Mrs. Avrum Yosef Goldstein, z”l.

    Rav Goldstein was married to Surah Sheindel Goldstein, who is the daughter of Reb Ruvain Eisner, z”l.

   “Rav Goldstein was a chosheve Yid, mamish a tzaddik,” explained Rav Goldstein’s neighbor, Reb Duvid Paneth, the son of the Deyzer Rebbe Rav Nuchem Meier Paneth, z”l, who was a close friend and unofficial chavrusa of Rav Goldstein. In addition, Rav Goldstein’s brother, Rav Mendel Paneth, who is the rav of Kahal Zichron Moishe Deyze, learned b’chavrusa with Rav Goldstein, z”l.

     “My father and Rav Goldstein, who was a lamed vovnik, schmoozed chassidus for hours.

    “While Rav Goldstein sat and learned all day in shul, people brought to him their names, kvittlach, and money just to feel safe.

     “Despite tremendous amount of pain Rav Goldstein suffered during his lifetime, he always smiled and was mechazek others.”

    Rav Goldstein’s levaya will take place today at 2pm at Yeshiva Yagdil Torah at 2pm 5110 18th Ave., followed by stops at the Ger Shteibel, which is located at 5214 16th Ave., and then at Kahal Zichron Moishe Deyze, which located at 5620 16th Ave. Rav Goldstein’s kvura will take place at the Har HaMenuchos Cemetery in Yerushaylim.
