BDE: Reb Hershel Melzer, z"l, 104, Last of a Generation

We regret to inform you of the passing of Reb Tzvi (Hershel) Melzer, the eldest Bobover chossid in the world, and a role model to scores of chassidim. He was 104, and with his passing, the Bobover chassidus has lost the last of its centenarians. 

The niftar was born in the town of Kshanov, to a family of Radomsker chassidim. After he endured the horrors of the war, in which he lost most of his family, he connected with the Bobover Rov, and remained within the chassidus for the ensuing eight decades. 

He raised a beautiful Torah family, and leaves behind a legacy of chassidus and yiras Shomayim. 

The levaya took place at the Bobover shul this morning, and kevurah will be in the Bobover beis hachaim in Deans, New Jersey.
