BDE: Reb Shimon Morgenstern, z”l

With great shock, the Gerer community in America heard the news of the sudden and shocking passing of Reb Shimon Morgenstern, one of the prominent Gerer chassidim in Boro Park. He was 65 years of age, and had been in Lakewood for Shabbos. 

The niftar is, ybl”ch, the brother of Rav Yitzchok Meir Morgenstern of Yerushalayim. 

The niftar was one of the founders of the Birchas Eliyahu shtiebel in Boro Park, which is founded in the memory of the unforgettable and legendary Gerer Rosh Kollel, Rav Elya Fischer, zt”l. 

His heartfelt tefillos were legendary, and he dedicated many hours for Torah learning. It was an awesome sight to see him engaged in his Torah study every day. 

He expended many efforts on behalf of Ichud Mosdos Gur, and was an ardent chossid. 

The news of his passing threw his entire family, and the entire Gerer community, into shock and mourning. 

The levaya will take place at the Birchas Eliyahu shtiebel, 5310 18th Avenue, at 11:00am.
