BDE: Reb Yosef Klein, z”l

We regret to inform you of the petirah of Reb Yosef Klein of Boro Park, who lived a life of Torah and avodas Hashem for his ninety-five years on this earth. 

The niftar was born in Boro Park 95 years ago. His grandfather, Rav Shloime Zalman Chaim Klein, zt”l, was a rov from Hungary, and was the rov of Congregation Linas Hatzedek on Clara Street on the outskirts of Boro Park. 

Yossi learned in Torah Vodaas, and later in the reestablished Novaradoker Yeshiva under Rav Avrohom Jofen, zt”l. He would remain “a Novaradoker” for the rest of his life. He lived in the vicinity of Novaradok on 49th Street, and was likely the misplalel there for longer than any of the talmidim.  

He also absorbed the aura and the emphasis on middos from Novaradok. His family and acquaintances remember his eidelkeit, his middos, and his discipline in tefillah and kvias ittim l’Torah. 

The niftar leaves behind a beautiful legacy of an American-born Yid in the 1920’s who remained steadfast in Yiddishkeit, and established beautiful generations. 

The levaya will take place this morning at 10:00 at Shomrei Hadas.
