BDE: The Mattesdorfer Rebbetzin, a”h

We regret to inform you of the passing of Rebbetzin Sheina Feigel Ehrenfeld, the old Mattesdorfer Rebbetzin. She was 88 years of age.  ‘

The Rebbetzin was the daughter of Haga’on Rav Shmuel Avraham Zeltenreich, zt”l, the Tchakava Rov, who traced his yichus to the Sanzer Rov and many other tzaddikim and luminaries. 

She was born and raised in Galicia, and miraculously survived the war. 

She married Rav Simcha Bunim Ehrenfeld, the son of Rav Shmuel Ehrenfeld—a scion of the illustrious family of the Chasam Sofer—who was then the Mattesdorfer Rov. He would later succeed his father as the Mattesdorfer Rov and Rosh Yeshivas Chasan Sofer. 

Together, they built an incredible Torah home, with numerous talmidei chachomim among their offspring. She also stood at the right hand of her husband in his harbotzas Torah and his Klal work. 

The Rebbetzin was nifteres on Thursday evening, leaving behind an incredible legacy and a beautiful Torah family. 

The Levaya will take place on Friday 12pm at Yeshivas Chasan Sofer. The Rebbetzin will be taken to Eretz Yisrael for kevurah following Shabbbos.
