Body Pulled from Rubble as Painstaking Recovery Efforts Continue

 This morning Miami-Dade County Mayor Daniella Levine Cava announced the recovery of yet another body from the rubble of the horrific 12-floor building collapse in Surfside—which still leaves more than 150 people unaccounted for. 

The pulling of this body brings the confirmed death toll to 10.

In the aftermath of the collapse last week, the recovery has continued at an extremely methodical pace. Officials insist that the local teams in place are “the best in the world.” The reason for the slow pace of this effort is due to the hope that victims of the collapse will be found alive, thus precluding the use of certain machinery and certain methods that would harm people trapped beneath the rubble. 

Mayor Levine-Cava has announced a media update at 12 noon EST from Surfside, where presumably more information will be made public as the nation remains with their eyes fixed upon Surfside, Florida, and their hearts bonded with the victims of the terrible tragedy with which it will forever be associated.
