Boro Park Chosson Among Meron Victims

As though the last twenty-four hours have not already been the sharpest turn from great joy to incomprehensible tragedy, we learn that the recently-engaged Menachem Knoblovitz (22), z”l, from a chashuve Gerer family, is tragically among the niftarim in Meron. 

His father Reb Dovid, originally from Komemiyus, is among the mispalelim in the Gerer Shtiebel on 18th Avenue and 46th street. He is among the prominent, generous supporters of Ichud Mosdos Gur, the umbrella organization of all Gerer institutions in the holy land. 

On his mother side, he is descended from the Glick family, also from a prominent Gerer family. 

Those who learned with Menachem, z”l, in Gerer yeshiva in Boro Park, remember a refined bachur, a ba’al middos , who approached his learning and davening with seriousness. 

He had recently become engaged to a girl from Lakewood—plunging two immediate families into bitter, shocking mourning, as Klal Yisroel joins them in horrific disbelief.
