Breaking: One Dead in 47th Street Apartment Building Fire

By BoroPark24 Staff

FDNY units responded to reports of a fire inside the building and encountered heavy smoke conditions upon arrival. Firefighters worked to bring the blaze under control, and FDNY thawing units were also called in to address frozen hydrants in the area. No firefighter injuries were reported.

Sadly, one individual was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as R’ Amram Mizrachi a”h, a well-known figure in the area and a frequent mispallel at Tiferes Eliezer (Lev).

The niftar knew Kol HaTorah Kulah, and whichever pasuk a bachur asked him, he knew the remaining verses by heart. The bachurim of the yeshiva welcomed him, and the Rav hosted him for the Shabbos meals whenever he was in the area. He was in his 80s.

Chesed Shel Emes and Misaskim are on the scene, working to ensure proper kavod hames

This remains a developing story.
