Brooklyn Marine Terminal Task Force to Vote on Housing Plan
By Y.M. Lowy
Next Wednesday, the Brooklyn Marine Task Force – made up of city agencies, local officials and local organizations – will vote on a plan to turn 122 acres of the terminal into affordable housing, as BoroPark24 reported.
The city is looking to invest billions into making better use of the waterways. With New York City facing a housing crisis, the plans under consideration include the construction of up to 8,000 homes, with more than a third of them designated as permanently affordable.
