By Y.M. Lowy
Nestled upstate in the wooded hills of Woodridge, Machne Bnos Skvere, also known as Giti Gardens, is nearing completion of a new construction project designed to better serve the growing girls' camp.
Founded in 1985, the camp, under the leadership of the Skver Rebbe of BP, has steadily expanded over the years, and this latest need to expand reflects the continued need for updated and spacious facilities. Since its founding in 1985, the camp has been steadily expanding. This latest update shows the growth and the need to provide the hundreds of campers with updated and spacious facilities
The new building includes a dormitory bunkhouse, a new canteen, a welcoming lobby, and porches where the girls can relax during downtime. The building is a brand-new structure, planned to accommodate the camp’s growth.
Construction has progressed quickly. The project began just three months ago and is now entering its final phase. It’s expected to be fully complete within two weeks. Once finished, the new building will meet the current needs of the camp.
The estimated cost of the project is $1.5 million. Machne Bnos Skvere continues to grow each year, but the focus remains the same: providing a warm, exciting, and structured environment for its campers each summer.
