ConEd Forewarns Consumers of Spike in Heating Bills for the Winter
BoroPark24 Staff
In what should come as no surprise, Con Edison informed its customers today that heating bills are on the rise for the New York area.
Electric bills are 43 percent higher than last year for December. Natural gas is 20 percent higher for the same month with no relief in sight.
ConEd blames the increase in natural gas on supply costs. Increases in natural gas prices also cause increases in electric bills, since power generation plants run on natural gas for the most part.
