DEVELOPING: Massive NYPD Response After 16-Year-Old Female Prisoner Escapes from Maimonides Medical Center

A large NYPD presence swarmed Maimonides Medical Center on Monday afternoon following reports of a prisoner who escaped custody while at the hospital.
According to initial information, the escaped individual is a 16-year-old female who was in police custody at the time. She reportedly managed to flee without handcuffs and was last seen wearing a white shirt and gray sweatpants. Witnesses say she has dreadlocks.
Law enforcement quickly responded in full force, securing the area around the hospital and launching an active search to locate the suspect. The NYPD Emergency Service Unit, along with K-9 dogs, arrived on scene to assist with the search, while the NYPD Aviation Unit hovered above Boro Park to provide aerial support.
As of now, no further details have been released about why the teen was in custody or how she managed to escape.
