DSNY Will Ticket Property Owners for Uncleared Sidewalks

Following the snowfall earlier this week, we have settled into a deep freeze, with temps outside feeling like they’re in the teens.
This means that any snow, and melted snow, has turned into ice, which can be dangerous to passersby.
The sanitation department has issued a warning to all property owners that they will be out and about, ticketing any property owners who have not cleared their sidewalks.
In a Tweet, the DSNY said, “Clearing the sidewalks of snow and ice is the responsibility of property owners.
“New York's Strongest will be out there en masse enforcing the basic rules intended to keep our sidewalks safe and passable.
“DO THE RIGHT THING and avoid a ticket.”
