Early Morning Burglary at Boro Park's Health Emporium

Early this morning, a thief targeted the Health Emporium store on 50th Street.

After failing to break through the glass storefront with his body alone, the thief then resorted to swinging a metal object through the glass before going straight to the cash register to empty it of the cash inside.

Baruch Hashem, the store empties the cash register daily, so there were just a few hundred dollars left overnight. Still, the store was left in shambles, with shattered glass scattered everywhere, requiring a major cleanup plus the repair of the glass.

This is not the first time the Health Emporium has been broken into and robbed. On June 3, the glass storefront was also shattered by a thief who stole the cash left in the register. Shmira, who is investigating the scene along with the NYPD, reviewed the camera footage and said it might be the same perp.

Robberies of this sort serve as a reminder for store owners to install a metal storefront gate to avoid easy break-ins like this one from happening.
